He talked about his role on the show in a panel discussion that was slightly different from usual.

Except for a few terms he didn’t know how to translate and preferred to state in English, Avi spoke exclusively in Portuguese throughout the panel.

Avi, born in the United States but spent some time abroad, spent most of his life in Latin America, close to the Brazilian border, where he picked up Portuguese.

Additionally, he claimed to have already made multiple trips to Portugal.

The actor took on a challenge and spoke on his panel in Portuguese, doing an outstanding job while incorporating a faint Brazilian accent and some Spanish.

Avi began the conversation with the panel’s moderator, reporter Cláudia Marques Santos from the Portuguese publication Diário de Noticias, by explaining how he came to land the part of Siddiq in TWD.

When Nash’s agency called to inform him of the casting, he was already in London. He didn’t even watch the episode since he was frightened of zombies and didn’t want to do it.

Despite this, the agency insisted that he go, and eventually, he was given the part.
