ESPN executive Kyle Brown died while covering a college baseball super regional game. Early on, Brown was sure he wanted to work for ESPN and in the sports industry.

In a 2003 article on the Ohio State website, he claimed that after accompanying a neighbor who worked as an ESPN executive, he fell in love with sports television production.

Since he was a freshman in high school, he worked for ESPN productions at many Ohio State games aired by the network.

Twenty years ago, Brown told the Ohio State website, “When Dick Vitale came to town, I was his driver for the day.”

When you watch him on TV you might think, “That guy must be drinking Red Bull by the litre”, but when he’s off the air he’s one of the nicest people and the most relaxed you can meet.

ESPN confirmed the worst: following a medical problem on Saturday, one of the company’s employees tragically died unexpectedly.

Following a medical emergency on Saturday, 42-year-old ESPN executive Kyle Brown died. He attended the super regional game between Alabama and Wake Forest.

Kyle Brown Espn’s obituary will be held in the presence of his family and friends.

In a statement, ESPN noted that beloved director Kyle Brown “suffered a medical emergency Saturday morning and tragically passed away at the NCAA Baseball Super Regional in Winston-Salem.”

Having worked for ESPN for 16 years, Kyle was a valued member of our production team.

He was also incredibly accomplished, having won two Sports Emmy Awards while covering many sports, including Monday Night Football and college football.

We offer the Brown family our sincere condolences at this difficult time.

His cause of death related to a medical emergency

A veteran ESPN employee tragically died unexpectedly ahead of the Wake Forest vs. Alabama NCAA Tournament Super Regionals game on Saturday.

Longtime team member Kyle Brown died before Saturday’s game, ESPN confirmed on Sunday.

“NCAA Baseball coverage on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU began at noon today with this tribute to Kyle Brown,” ESPN PR said on Sunday.

All morning, tributes to Brown poured in.

Brown died just before Saturday morning’s super regional game between No. 1 Wake Forest and Alabama. At this difficult time, our thoughts are with his friends and family.
