Vince Hill was a British singer who rose to popularity in the 1960s and 1970s for his smooth and versatile vocal style. He was born on April 16, 1934 in Holbrooks, Coventry, England. Hill’s musical career began at a young age when he sang in church choirs and local bands.
He got his first big hit in the early 1960s with the song “The River’s Run Dry”. However, Vince Hill’s breakthrough came in 1967 with his rendition of the song “Edelweiss” from the musical “The Sound of Music.” The song became a hit in the UK, reaching the top of the charts and establishing Hill as a top singer.

Annie Hill was married to singer Vince Hill. The couple met when Vince was just 23 and Annie 17. At the time of their meeting, Annie was working as a secretary for showbiz agent Tito Burns.
The couple later married in 1959 and shared many wonderful years together. Vince has previously credited his beloved wife with changing his life and fortunes as a singer, with Annie persuading him to launch his solo career – and she was right.
In 1962, the late star had his first hit with The Rivers Run Dry and he became a multi-millionaire entertainer.
In September 2016, Annie passed away from a degenerative lung disease.
She was 77 at the time of her death.
