Trevor John Francis, a renowned English footballer, left an indelible mark on the sport with his impressive career spanning various clubs. After playing as a striker for teams in England, USA, Italy, Scotland and Australia, Francis showed his talent and passion for the game. His move from Birmingham City to Nottingham Forest in 1979 marked a turning point in his career as he became the first player in England to earn a staggering sum of one million dollars.
Francis etched his name in footballing history when he scored the winning goal for Forest in the 1979 European Cup final against Malmö. Francis, a cleaning company supervisor from Solihull, West Midlands, gave evidence in court that in May 2011 he visited Hendrie’s £1.6million home in Rowington, Warwickshire, to estimate the cost of cleaning.
After his fingerprints were discovered in a one-bedroom cottage connected to the Hendrie estate in August 2011, Francis was initially questioned about the alleged break-in.
