Kiri Allan is a New Zealand politician who served as a member of the New Zealand Parliament. She was born on October 1, 1984 in Whakatāne, New Zealand.
Kiri Allan was a member of the New Zealand Labor Party and represented the East Coast electorate in the New Zealand Parliament. She first entered parliament in 2017 after winning the East Coast seat in the general election. She was re-elected in the 2020 general election.
During her tenure in Parliament, Kiri Allan held a variety of roles and responsibilities, including serving on parliamentary committees and contributing to policy discussions and debates.

Resignation
Allan held several ministerial portfolios after 2020, including serving as Minister of Justice from June 2022 to July 2023. In June 2023, concerns were raised about the way Allan was treating her staff, which led her to receive coaching to promote a positive work environment. Allan was involved in a driving incident on July 23, 2023 in which her vehicle struck another vehicle; police issued her with a violation notice for exceeding the legal breath alcohol limit and also charged her with refusing to accompany a police officer and reckless driving. Allan resigned from all of his ministerial posts the following day.
