Shaka Hislop is a retired professional football (soccer) player and sports analyst. He was born on February 22, 1969 in Hackney, London, England. Hislop represented Trinidad and Tobago internationally, as he had Trinidadian heritage through his parents.
Hislop had a successful playing career as a goalkeeper, with notable spells at clubs like Reading, Newcastle United and West Ham United in England. He also played for other teams in England and elsewhere before retiring from professional football in 2007.
After retiring, Shaka Hislop moved on to a career in sports media and pundits. He has worked as a football analyst and commentator for various media outlets including ESPN, providing news and analysis on football shows and talks.
He and his wife Desha married in 1995. They have five children.

For the next 14 years, Desha and her husband lived in various parts of England, including Newcastle, Southampton, Essex and London.
This frequent relocation has helped shape Desha’s career in real estate as she has gained a deep understanding of the challenges her clients face when relocating.
Desha has worked at Barrett Sotheby International Realty since February 2019. Desha previously worked at The Attias Group Real Estate.
Shaka and Desha Hislop are the proud parents of five talented children. They reside in the United States.
The couple married on June 10, 1995. Their children are Maalanaa, Khazia, Talia, Nia and Luca.
