Taylor Schabusiness, birth name Taylor Denise Coronado, is a 25-year-old woman currently on trial on heinous charges related to the February 2022 murder and dismemberment of her friend, Shad Tyrion.
Police allege that during a drug-fuelled sexual act, she decapitated and mutilated Thyrion, creating a gruesome scene reminiscent of a horror movie.
Earlier, a competency hearing was held and a psychologist from the Wisconsin Forensics Unit said Schabusiness was in a position to help him in his defense, a decision accepted by the prosecution.
However, her defense attorney disagreed, citing a different assessment that suggested she was unable to help defend him.

The crime scene involving Taylor Schabusiness was discovered on February 23, 2022 at a residence in the 800 block of Stony Brook Lane in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Police responded to a call from the victim’s mother, who had found her son’s severed head and “male organ” in a bucket in the basement.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a gruesome sight with the victim’s head found under a towel in the bucket. The criminal complaint said there was dried blood on a nearby mattress.
The investigation found that the victim was killed in a drug-fuelled sexual act, and Schabusiness admitted to strangling him with choke collars placed around his throat.
She felt her mate’s heart pound as she cut off her oxygen until she died.
Schabusiness confessed to other disturbing actions, including playing with the corpse for several hours and dismembering the body with multiple blades.
She had planned to take all the body parts with her, but only managed to get one leg/foot into her truck, leaving the head behind. Schabusiness said she went “crazy” during the process and passed out.
Police found other human body parts, including legs, inside a slow cooker in Schabusiness’s van during their search.
She was arrested and charged with first-degree manslaughter, mutilation of a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault. If she is convicted, Schabusiness faces life in prison.
Jury selection set Friday for Taylor Schabusiness
The jury selection process will begin Friday in the Taylor Schabusiness murder and dismemberment trial in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Brown County Presiding Judge Thomas Walsh ruled that Schabusiness was competent to stand trial just hours before the selection process was to begin.
The move comes after two recent skills assessments, with one expert deeming her competent and another on the defense side saying otherwise.
Judge Walsh considered a variety of factors, including past assessments and observations of Schabusiness’s behavior in court.
He concluded that she could help his defense and that she understood courtroom procedures and the players.
The trial faced delays due to difficulties arranging interviews with Schabusiness while he was incarcerated and his physical assault on his lawyer at an earlier hearing in February.
The judge intends to have 16 people on the jury box, including four alternates, for this murder trial.
