Update Magnus White: Upcoming American Cyclist Dies at Age 17

USA Cycling announced on Sunday that Magnus White, a 17-year-old American cyclist who was considered a promising talent in the sport, had passed away due to a training accident in Boulder, Colorado. He was referred to as a “rising star” in the cycling community.

According to the governing body, White was getting ready to participate in the cross-country event at the Junior Mountain Bike World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, when he was hit by a vehicle.

According to USA Cycling, White began racing nationally at the age of 10 and specialized in off-road cycling, ultimately competing in the Cyclocross World Championships for the US team in both 2022 and 2023.

For the first time, he earned a spot on the Mountain Bike World Championships team this year. His scheduled competition in Glasgow is on August 10th.

According to a statement from USA Cycling, White developed a passion for cycling at a young age thanks to his involvement with Boulder Junior Cycling.

His love for cycling was clearly reflected in his racing and strong bond with fellow cyclists and the community. He was a promising talent in the off-road cycling world.

Jill and Michael, the parents of White, along with his brother, Eero, are the surviving family members. A GoFundMe campaign created by his close friends in remembrance of White has surpassed $60,000 as of Monday.
