Janet Kataaha Museveni, is a prominent Ugandan politician and the marry of President Yoweri Museveni.

She has held several positions in the Ugandan government, including Minister of Karamoja Affairs and Minister of Education and Sports. Janet Museveni was born in Kajarra County, Ntungamo District to parents Edward Birori and Mutesi.

She attended Kyamate Primary School and Bweranyangi Girls Secondary School in Uganda. Museveni’s life took a significant turn when she went into exile in 1971 following the military coup led by Idi Amin, which overthrew the regime of Milton Obote.
