Larry Millete has been charged with the murder of his wife, Maya Millete, who disappeared more than two years ago.
Maya Millete, 39, a mother of three and a US Navy civilian employee, was last seen on January 7, 2021 in Chula Vista, California.
His partner, Larry, was arrested in October of the same year. At first, Larry provided the public and the police with various theories as to where his wife might have gone.

Larry Millete is still awaiting trial for the murder of his wife, Maya Millete.
His body has not yet been found. As mentioned above, Larry was arrested in October 2021. His trial was halted due to his mental health issue in 2022.
The missing woman’s spouse has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and possession of an assault weapon. He was denied bail and phone privileges to contact her children.
Larry Millete’s preliminary hearing lasted two weeks and ended on January 25, 2023, when the judge ruled that there was sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.
According to the sun, Larry Millete’s murder trial is scheduled to begin on September 14, 2023. As for the whereabouts of the suspect, he is currently in jail.
Details of the case of the disappearance of Maya Millete
Maya Millete was last seen at her home in Chula Vista, California on January 7, 2021.
The missing woman’s husband, Larry Millete, to whom she was married for 21 years, told different stories about where she might have gone.
Maya’s sister, Maricris Drouaillet, reported her missing on January 9. Family and friends printed and distributed flyers with the news of her disappearance. Since then, Maya’s family has wanted her back safe from her.
Former criminal defense investigator and attorney Billy Little wanted to help and went to Millete’s home on January 11, 2021 to find clues. The lawyer said Larry didn’t seem concerned about Maya’s disappearance.
However, Larry expressed his hope in interviews and asked his wife to come home.
Two weeks after the woman went missing, the Chula Vista Police Department issued a search warrant for Millete’s home.
The authorities were aiming to uncover evidence that would lead to finding Maya. Firearms were seized from the home. More than two years have passed. But there is no trace of Maya.
On February 5, 2021, the CVPD and Maya’s family held a press conference asking for help finding her. In addition, they have published bi-weekly updates on her investigations and investigative activities.
Mount San Miguel Park, where Maya liked to hike, and the vast desert areas east of Chula Vista, near the Arizona border, were among the many locations CVPD observed.
They deployed dogs, helicopters and drones to help in the search.
Many of Maya’s searches were also organized by family, friends, colleagues, and volunteers in different locations.
Despite extensive searches, there is no sign of Maya Millete or her body. The police and her relatives believe that she is dead.
What happened to the lady remains a mystery.
