Randy Fullmer was an American businessman and the Executive for the Walt Disney Company. Apart from his career at the world-famous company, he also ran his own business, Wyn Guitars.

Disney Animator Randy Fullmer Death Cause And Obituary: Dies Of Cancer

Legendary Walt Disney Animator and producer Randy Fullmer died on 10 July 2023 at the age of 73. According to reports, the renowned animator died of cancer.

The Walt Disney Animation Studios first broke the sad news of Fullmer’s passing and stated that he died following a long cancer battle.

However, further details on his illness and cancer battle have not been made public. With his departure, the entertainment industry lost a remarkable member.

Fullmer spent nearly 20 years working at the Disney toon studio, earning credits such as effects animator. Randy Fullmer was best known for being an effect animator on The Little Mermaid and Oliver & Company.

Randy was the effects supervisor for the famous movie “The Rescuers Down Under” and the artistic coordinator for “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Likewise, he served as a producer on “The Emperor’s New Groove and Chicken Little. Fullmer was a VFX supervisor on 1991’s Beauty and the Beast and artistic coordinator on 1994’s The Lion King.

Many people have taken to social media to express their sorrow over the demise of Randy Fullmer and paid tributes.

While paying tributes, the producer of The Lion King, Don Hahn, said most people are good at one thing, but Randy was good at many things.

Don Hahn went on to say that the late animator was a talented artist who could sketch and paint. Hahn remarked Randy had the thinking of an engineer and the heart of a craftsman.

“He was excellent at both producing movies and animation. He was at the epicenter of the Disney animation renaissance. Although I mourn him, I still feel his enthusiasm and delight daily. I will always,” added Don Hahn.

Randy Fullmer Hailed From Richland, Washington

Randy Fullmer was born on 27 April 1950 to his parents in Richland, Washington. He went to Washington State University and graduated in 1970.

The late animator reportedly took film classes during his second year in the institution. Since then, he became hooked on animation. Eventually, the class led him to the Toon program at CalArts.

Randy graduated from CalArts with a bachelor’s degree in 1974.

Fullmer joined Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1987. He was hired to animate Who Framed Roger Rabbit on a three-month contract.

During the initial years of his professional career, he ran his own animation business and produced medical, scientific and other educational clips.

He retired from animation in 2006 and launched Wyn Guitars, a custom bass guitar company, as he had been passionate about the instrument since he was young.

Randy created hundreds of unique basses for famous musicians, including Jermaine Jackson and Jimmy Haslip.

He was featured in a documentary called Restrung, which showcased his impact on the music industry.
