The well-known media mogul and philanthropist Dato Malik has been arrested by MACC. The news of his arrest has come as a shock to the nation. Why did Dato Malik get Arrested By MACC?
Dato Malik, real name is Abdul Malik Dasthigeer recently came into the news after he was arrested by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). The arrest was done under the Anti-Terrorism Financing, Anti-Money Laundering and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (Amla). He is still in custody and is being interrogated by the officials of MACC.
The exact reason behind his arrest is still not known but it looks like he was involved in alleged drug trafficking. MACC usually deals with terrorism, money and drugs related issues. The news of Dato Malik’s arrest has become a hot topic in the media. As per reports, MACC will possibly conduct a thorough investigation to full extent and later take legal action in court. He is the Chairman and Founder of the Malik Group of Companies. It also consists of many entities such as Malik Maju Sdn.Bhd, Malik Streams Corporation Sdn.Bhd, Malik Streams Antenna Movies Sdn.Bhd, Malik Streams Properties Sdn.Bhd as well as Malik Streams Production & Distribution. Due to his work, he went on to win many notable awards including Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) by the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka and Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob, on the occasion of his 73rd birthday.
