Cancer is perhaps one of the deadliest diseases we have. Recovery always depends on luck and the body’s ability to cope with the stressful treatment. Fighting cancer is difficult, but don’t lose hope. This message isn’t about someone just dying of cancer, it’s about something more heartbreaking. On July 22, 2023, Riley Faith Steep, a 7-year-old Simpsonville resident sadly passed away. People on social media were extremely saddened by the news of her death.

Riley Faith Steep: Cause of Death, Obituary, and Burial
Despite being born on May 6, 2016, she bravely battled stage 4 adrenal cortical cancer after being diagnosed in September 2020. Her family mourns her death. Of course, as a little girl like Riley, it’s very difficult and exhausting to keep up with the heavy, toxic cancer treatment. But she did not give up and continued to fight for two years. Every family has to experience the incredibly horrific scenario of losing a child. Their daughter, Riley Faith, bravely battled cancer at a young age.
Riley’s foundation helps other cancer children
She started Riley’s Cozy Comfy Mission, a warm-hearted initiative collecting bedding, coloring books and stuffed animals to calm children at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital. Like any other child, she loved to socialize, paint and play with her family. She has always been a very enthusiastic and happy child. From such a young age, Riley understood the importance of feeling safe and at home during difficult times away from home.
Anyone touched by Riley Faith’s generosity and energy was shocked by her sudden death. At this point, all we can do is hope, wish and pray that maybe Riley is in a much better place than before. We hope she is happy, healthy and smiling.
