Jessica Hilda Mauboy is a talented Australian actress, singer, and songwriter who first gained recognition in 2006 as the runner-up on the fourth season of Australian Idol. This success led to a recording deal with Sony Music Australia, and in 2007, she released a live CD of her American Idol performances. She briefly joined the female group Young Divas before releasing her debut studio album, Been Waiting, in 2008.

This album featured her first number-one song, “Burn,” and was certified double platinum. In 2009, it was the second-highest-selling Australian album of the year. Mauboy’s second studio album, Get ‘Em Girls, showcased a harder-edged R&B style and produced four platinum singles.

Who Is Themeli Magripilis?

Jessica Mauboy husband is Themeli Magripilis. She started a long-distance relationship with Darwin-born, Greek-descent soccer player and council worker Themeli “Magoo” Magripilis in January 2009. 

Magripilis for Hellenic Athletic, the same team that Sophia, Mauboy’s younger sister, played for in the Darwin soccer league.  Magripilis moved from Darwin to Sydney in September 2016 and moved in with Mauboy after seven years of long-distance courting. The union took place on July 9, 2022, in Darwin.

Mauboy returns to Darwin to see her family when she is not working. She is a die-hard supporter of the NRL team North Queensland Cowboys. 

In 2019, while on vacation in Greece, Jessica and Themeli, who have been dating since they were 18 years old, were engaged.  Even though the pair wants children, Jess admits it might be some time before she and Them add to their family.
